I think I would recommend this program to everybody who is really interested in getting in shape too.

I was flipping the T.V. stations, and there was an overweight person talking on the Oprah show .. I don’t know what the epiosode was all about, but I recall hearing the following before I changed the channel to Andromeda T.V. show …

Guest: I’ve tried all the diets, and nothing has ever worked for me!
Oprah: That’s because you quit each of them. Have you tried NOT to quit any of them?

Yvonne and myself go to our weekly weigh in’s every Saturday morning. I figure since we are paying for the membership and attendance, we may as well stay and listen and get motivated every week.

There was a good point made at last Saturday’s meeting:

  • We are at week 35 in the year.
  • Most people try to make New Years’ Resolutions to lose weight each year.
  • A good week is to lose anywhere between 1/2 pound to 2 pounds per week
  • Don’t look at the daily weight loss or gains, look at the total picture
  • ..

    And that total picture is .. that you could have lost between 17-70 pounds since January 1, 2005 until now.

    But – there is 17 weeks left … you can lose another 8-35 pounds before January 1, 2006.

    I’m not even exercising, and bothering with portion controls yet and I’ve lost over 20 pounds over the summer. Who would’ve thunk?
