I’m looking for BANDS, PROMOTERS, REVIEWERS, and ANY MUSIC RELATED SITE that offers subscriptions via email … to provide me and this blog with periodic content updates via email.

This could be …

* news of up and coming concert dates ..
* reviews of bands and their music
* interest stories about the music industry and people in it
* I’m open to suggests for other stuff ..

What I am looking for is something like this …

* Bands, promoters, and webmasters would be able to email this blog directly to post articles, reviews and other music related content immediately
* I would like to find ezines articles that is music related .. the email address would be directly to this blog and get posted immediately
* Royalty free (i.e. I do not want to pay for any services to receive the content) – content becomes content of this blog but can contain as many links to as many blogs, sites, affiliate products, or to sites that you want to promote (email receipts of content, generally will not be modified). The public will be seeing the content, RSS feeds will be available, and there is monetization on this blog.

As for our front walk … there is TONS of sand and gravel that I was using to fill in the potholes and sinking areas of our front walkway so my client’s feet and shoes wouldn’t get tooo soked.

The Sturgeon Creek is quite high now .. it overflowed onto Ness Avenue and they have closed Ness Avenue from School Road on. I should go for a walk and take pictures this weekend … I’m too busy now and have too many appointments – and it will be dark by the time I have time to check it out again. I was out earlier, but forgot my camera.

We are having problems with the front sidewalk of our house.

Here are the problems:

(1) There is tons of snow on our roof, and it slants towards our sidewalk. The snow melting, freezes and prevents the water from flowing in the eavestrough so it drips onto the sidewalk.

(2) We had lousy snow clearing this year .. and no it wasn’t me. As we live in a Condo, snow cleaning is part of the general maintenance. They did not keep our sidewalk down to the cement, and it’s like parting of the Red Sea .. The black ice is melting on the sidewalk edges and from the sides

(3) Everytime I shovel all of the water out, and break up the ice .. it leaves space for more snow and ice to melt and drip in it’s place.

It’s very annoying. Everytime I go out – my shoes get soaking wet. I operate my business out of my house and clients are dropping their records .. and also getting their shoes and feet soaking wet.

Grrr.

I sent an email to the property manager Sunday Night… I guess time will tell and, maybe I’ll add some pictures.

What is a Meme you ask?

I like them. At least the ones I participate in.

In my other blog .. 1-800-HART .. I currently participate in two MEME’s … a photo meme (because I have a lot of photos in my HARTandYVONNE.com website and in my PetLvr.com website) and a music meme (because I have over 3000 mp3’s in my collection!)

Some of the pictures that end up in this gallery are breathtaking .. from REAL photoblogs and photographers around the world. If you make an entry, they have been archiving all of the links to previous weeks throughout the years. What a great archive to browse through – if you are bored and have lots of time on your hand!

2)

I love to share and a few others are doing this too – Beside picking the music selections for this week’s meme .. participants are putting up these song selections to be available for download to listen to .. but, only for a short term period or by a number of download count. So, you can scoop some great music that you might not normally listen to! I work at home during the day and often listen to my 3000+ mp3’s all day on a random basis, so it’s nice to add a few new songs every once in a while.

I’m doing this as well – putting up the mp3’s for each of my selections … from Friday to Friday .. So, if you sign up for BLOGLINES or already collecting RSS Feeds .. go to my 1-800-HART site and subscribe to my RSS Feed .. you will know when I post entries .. and then you will have 7 days to download my selections .. until they get deleted from my server. Or, you can just bookmark this link too 🙂 1-800-HART’s Meme’s, and check back every weekend.

The nice thing about bookmarks, is that in your browser .. if you like my site or any other site, all you have to do is CTRL-B or ADD BOOKMARK .. and then when you want to visit me, you can just search your bookmarks and point and click a URL link, without ever having to type it.

The world is changing though. That is the old way. That is the old way that assumes you have time to go around the world and look at all of these bookmarks of yours. Not to mention, that you really are a little computer savvy and have taken the forethought to organize your bookmarks into logical sections. If so, you are a minority.

There is this neat thing call “RSS” .. If you do not know what that is or means, check out the web definition here … You might have seen some newspapers describe it as “Really Simple Syndication” but, that definition is really what it has evolved into – and not what it was created as.

The basic thing that you have to know about RSS feeds, is that you find a RSS reader, which can be a news aggregator, or some type of program external to your browser, and you type in a URL of a RSS feed, and you can see all the headlines, and sometimes the entire article in the reader. You don’t have to go into your browser’s bookmarks anymore. When there is new content – your reader will retrieve that information and give you a glimpse.

A lot of people blog and use RSS feeds. There are a lot of different types of blogging programs. There are programs out there that convert data and content into RSS Feeds that are not blogs. As a result, there are many types of RSS feeds. There are XML feeds, RDF feeds, Atom feeds, there is 0.9 versions, 0.91 and 1.0 and even 2.0 versions.

People like me use a site and company like FeedBurner.com .. I give them my original RSS feed, in whatever format it originally was, and then they keep track of statistics and rename my feed and convert it so everyone can read it. I usually place these links in a graphical little banner in the “Blog Stuff” section or “Syndication” sections of my blogs.

I used to use a great RSS news reader or news aggregator program, but then one day I went to another computer and I didn’t export all of my RSS feed links that I have been watching, and it was terrible being out of the loop! Since then, I went to an online site that keeps track of all of my feeds from other sites in one location. This way, it doesn’t matter what computer I am on, all I have to do is just access the internet and remember my login information.

For everybody’s convenience, on all of my blogs – I have inserted an easy-click button at the top of the sidebar to subscribe automatically to your bloglines account. This means that if you click it – you will get all of the new posts that I make whenever I make them. You do not have to check your bookmarks and come visit me anymore, unless you know there is new information.

Of course, I have tons of pictures and videos here .. I don’t see why you WOULDN’T want to spend an afternoon browsing this HARTandYVONNE.com/blog anyway 😀
